With the Porchdog app for Airscape whole house fans, you gain the ability to control select Airscape fans using your iPhone or iPad from anywhere in your home. This allows for convenient adjustments of fan speed and timer settings tailored to your specific preferences.

The app offers built-in notifications to guide you in optimizing fan performance. It notifies you when it's necessary to open more windows for better airflow or close windows in case of extreme external temperatures. On-screen temperature displays provide essential information for making precise decisions about fan usage.

Moreover, the optional "pre-cool" feature stands out as it allows you to schedule the fan to start at a specified time, aiding in cooling your house before hot weather strikes. Utilizing pre-cooling effectively can help reduce or eliminate the need for air conditioning during the day.

Setting up the app is straightforward and quick. By scanning your network, you can easily identify connected fans and select a fan without needing its network address in advance. This proves to be highly convenient, especially if multiple fans are present within your home.

The Porchdog app supports the following Airscape fans that are compatible with Airscape's 2nd Gen Controls:

It's important to note several limitations of the app:

<ul>
<li>The app requires Gen 2 fan control capability, which may not be supported by all Airscape fans. The free version includes a check to verify your fan configuration.</li>
<li>Fan control is only viable when both the fan and iPhone/iPad are connected to the same local-area network, meaning remote operation is not supported.</li>
<li>Some features necessitate optional fan capabilities, specifically the Airscape "Safe Speed Kit" for detecting airflow restrictions and an Indoor/Outdoor temperature sensor package for monitoring indoor temperatures, although outdoor temperatures can be fetched from a weather service.</li>
</ul>

Including in-app purchases, notably the "pre-cool" feature described earlier, charges your iTunes account upon confirmation during purchase within the app. If available, any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited upon purchasing a paid subscription.

The "One year subscription" automatically renews after one year at $7.99 USD unless auto-renewal is disabled in your Account Settings before renewal. Early charges may occur up to 24 hours before subscription termination. Auto-renewal does not apply to monthly and 6-month pre-cool subscriptions.
